This study explored the social and economic contributions of tourism in Danao Lake, Polangui, Albay. It utilized the findings to develop a Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan aimed at supporting the Local Government Unit (LGU) in promoting the area to local and international tourists. Specifically, the research assessed: (1) the current status of Danao Lake; (2) its social development contributions; (3) its economic development contributions; (4) the relationship between these two dimensions; (5) the effects of social development on economic development; and (6) the formulation of a strategic tourism plan. A descriptive-correlational method was employed, using a researcher-developed questionnaire administered to 80 respondents. Data were analyzed using weighted mean, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient, and Coefficient of Determination. Findings revealed that Danao Lake, characterized by its serene natural beauty and adventure offerings, lacks sufficient amenities but attracts visitors for its eco-tourism potential. Social and economic contributions obtained overall weighted means of 2.93 and 2.86, respectively, indicating moderate agreement among respondents. Strong, statistically significant relationships were found between social and economic indicators, with r-values ranging from 0.88 to 0.99 and p-values ≤ 0.045. The effects of social development on economic growth were high, with r²-values between 56% and 99%. The proposed tourism development plan envisions transforming Danao Lake into a premier ecotourism destination, balancing economic benefits with environmental sustainability and cultural preservation. The study concludes that tourism in Danao Lake significantly influences local development and supports the need for an integrated, data-driven development strategy.
