Animation is a multidisciplinary field which includes multiple techniques and styles that have evolved over the years. 2D animation has been one such category which has found its place in films. The combination of traditional live-action filming and animation has opened some new pathways for the visual art form. The researcher proposes to analyze the selected films which have used different kinds of 2D animation as a part of their narrative. The study accordingly focuses on the intent of the filmmakers, their production process and analyzes the end result. The research will categorise the various ways in which the animation was utilised within the story. The study will document the multiple techniques and methods involved in the making of these films.
