This work reports a study of the corrosive characteristics of nickel coated carbon nanotubes reinforced with Al metal matrix composites in acidic environment. The composites were prepared by the liquid metallurgy system and the weight reduction strategy was adopted to investigate the corrosion rate. The term of the tests gone from 30 to 90 hours in the means of 10 hours. Unreinforced matrix alloy and the composites were subjected to indistinguishable test conditions to study the impact of carbon nanotubes on corrosion behavior. The erosion rates of both the unreinforced matrix alloy and the composites decreased with the introduction time. Corrosion resistance was found to improve with increase in wt. % of carbon nanotubes. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was utilized to study the corroded surface of the specimens
