Graphene, a monolayer of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb lattice, has emerged as the most well-known two-dimensional (2D) material due to its extraordinary electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties. This review explores the fundamental characteristics of graphene, the various synthesis techniques, and its growing application landscape across electronics, energy storage, and biomedical domains. The study also discusses current challenges and future directions for scalable production and functionalization of graphene.
