This review examines the scientific understanding of climate change, its causes, and the diverse impacts on urban areas. It highlights essential mitigation strategies and adaptation measures necessary to build climate-resilient cities. The report also explores current policies, international cooperation frameworks, and future prospects to strengthen urban climate resilience. Emphasizing the urgent need for climate-smart initiatives, such as affordable housing, nature-based solutions, and sustainable waste management, this review calls for immediate and coordinated action to safeguard the environment and ensure sustainable urban development for future generations.
