The growing demand for affordable and dependable security systems has led to the emergence of microcontroller-driven access control technologies. This project presents the design and implementation of a self-contained, password-based door locking system utilizing the Arduino Uno microcontroller. The prototype incorporates a 4x4 matrix keypad for password entry, a servo motor to operate the locking mechanism, and a 16x2 LCD module for user interaction. Access is granted upon correct password authentication, eliminating the dependence on traditional keys. The system is engineered for simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and scalability, making it a practical solution for both residential and commercial environments. It addresses common issues such as lost or duplicated keys and enhances personal security with minimal hardware overhead.
