Title

Potassium Solubilizing Bacteria a boon for maintaining Soil fertility: Isolation and Characterization from Soil Samples of different Areas of Raipur district of Chhattisgarh, India

Abstract

One of the most crucial minerals for plant development is potassium (K). Due to the inaccessible form of K, most plants are unable to absorb the K-bearing minerals from the soil. Therefore, potassium solubilizing bacteria (KSB) are responsible for fixing K into soluble form and facilitating easy absorption by plants. The study's goal is to identify and characterize KSB. Three KSB strains—C1, D1, and G2—were isolated and recognized using morphological, biochemical, and 16S rRNA characterization. Out of 45 isolates, these three strains provide the best zone of solubilization ratio; G2 (Methylophilus qulaie) provides a zone of solubilization ratio that is higher than that of C1 (Methylophilus spp.) and D1 (Methylophilus rhizosphaerae).

Key Words
