The statement of study is “An Exploratory study to assess the knowledge regarding prevention of pre-eclampsia among antenatal mothers in selected hospital of Moga, Punjab. The purpose of the study is to assess the knowledge regarding prevention of pre-eclampsia among antenatal mothers and explore the knowledge with the help of distribution an informational booklet regarding prevention of pre-eclampsia. The objectives of present study was to assess the knowledge regarding prevention of pre-eclampsia among antenatal mothers, to find out the relationship between knowledge of pre-eclampsia among antenatal mothers with selected demographic variables such as age (in years), educational status of antenatal mother, educational status of husband, occupation of antenatal mother, occupation of husband, gravida, family monthly income in rupees, dietary patterns, source of information and family history of pre-eclampsia, to prepare and distribute an informational booklet regarding prevention of pre-eclampsia by selecting a sample of 200 antenatal mothers by Simple random sampling technique. The review of the present study is organized and presented under the three aspects: Literature related to prevalence regarding pre-eclampsia. Literature related to knowledge regarding pre-eclampsia. Literature related to prevention regarding pre-eclampsia. The major findings of the study shows that maximum number 113 (57%) antenatal mothers had average knowledge followed by 45 (22%) antenatal mothers had below average knowledge and minimum number 42 (21%) antenatal mothers had good knowledge regarding prevention of pre-eclampsia. From the findings of the study, it was concluded that age ( in years), educational status of husband, occupation of antenatal mothers, family monthly income in rupees, source of information and had significant knowledge of antenatal mothers regarding prevention of pre-eclampsia whereas educational status of antenatal mothers, occupation of husband, gravida, dietary pattern, and family history of pre-eclampsia had no significant impact on knowledge of antenatal mothers regarding prevention of pre-eclampsia.
