Title

Understanding Learning Disabilities in Children: School Health Nursing Perspectives and Interventions

Abstract

Learning disabilities (LDs) are among the most prevalent neurodevelopmental disorders affecting school-going children, often impacting academic performance, social development, and emotional well-being. Despite growing awareness, many cases remain undiagnosed or mismanaged due to limited screening, stigma, and lack of training among school healthcare providers. This paper explores the nature of learning disabilities in children, their early signs, risk factors, and the critical role school health nurses play in identification, intervention, and family support. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based nursing strategies, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the need for policy reform to strengthen school-based learning disability services.
