Technology is pivotal in transforming agriculture for achieving sustainability by improving productivity, minimizing environmental impacts, and securing food supply. This review consolidates recent literature to investigate the transformative impact of technologies such as precision agriculture, automation, biotechnology, artificial intelligence (AI), and sustainable resource management systems. All machinery tools help in improve crop productivity, disease detection and market access, providing advantages to smallholder farmers. Nevertheless, challenges such as high costs, digital divides, and regulatory obstacles hinder widespread adoption. Future development should prioritize affordability, accessibility, and adaptability to ensure inclusive benefits, particularly for smallholder farmers. Continued research and policy support are essential to sustain this technological revolution in agroecosystems. Overall, modern technology has contributed significantly to advancement of agroecosystems, assisting farmers increase efficiency, productivity, and sustainability while producing high-quality and safe food.
