Title

Empirical Analysis of Process Optimization Techniques on Operational Efficiency in Small and Medium Enterprises in Jodhpur District”

Abstract

This study examines the impact of process optimization techniques on operational efficiency in SMEs in Jodhpur District, Rajasthan. Employing a quantitative approach, data were gathered from 200 respondents across various roles in production units via structured surveys. Statistical tools, including Cronbach’s Alpha for reliability, t-tests, and ANOVA, were used to assess the effects of techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen on efficiency metrics like production time, cost reduction, and resource utilization. Results indicate that Lean and Kaizen significantly improve efficiency, with handicraft SMEs showing notable gains. ANOVA reveals significant differences in efficiency across industries, with handicrafts outperforming textiles and furniture. Challenges such as resource limitations and resistance to change were identified as barriers to adoption. The findings contribute to the literature on SME process optimization and offer practical implications for Jodhpur’s entrepreneurs and policymakers. Recommendations include targeted training and government incentives to promote adoption, addressing the unique needs of Jodhpur’s SME sector to enhance sustainability and competitiveness.
