Rural areas in India are undergoing rapid development under schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Vikas Yojana (PMG-VY), yet traffic and parking infrastructure remain underdeveloped. This study explores the deployment of a low-cost, scalable Smart Parking Management System (SPMS) integrated with real-time traffic monitoring in Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh. Using IoT sensors, GIS mapping, and a mobile platform, the system was implemented across key village market centers and rural bus stands. Results show a 29% reduction in vehicle wait times and a 21% improvement in parking space utilization. The paper demonstrates how technology-driven mobility solutions can improve rural connectivity, accessibility, and infrastructure utilization under government development schemes.
