Women Reservation - a step towards Inclusivity and Diversity

Abstract
Women constitute nearly 50% of India’s population, yet their representation in Parliament has hovered around a mere 15%. In state legislative assemblies, the average female representation is even lower—less than 10%. This glaring disparity highlights the urgent need for systemic reform. The Women’s Reservation Bill, seeking to reserve 33% of seats for women in Parliament and state assemblies, is a long-overdue step toward gender-balanced governance.
