Title

A study to evaluate effectiveness of self-instructional module regarding promotion of mental health among COVID 19 recovered patient of selected community at Jhunjhunu district.

Abstract

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as a state of mental, physical, and social well-being, and not merely physical well-being. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. Mental health issues following the COVID-19 pandemic stem from normal people being exposed to extraordinary situations. AIM: This study is aimed to evaluate effectiveness of self-instructional module regarding promotion of mental health among COVID 19 recovered patient of selected community at Jhunjhunu district. METHODS: A quantitative approach and pre-experimental, one group pre-test post-test research design was used to evaluate effectiveness of self- instructional module regarding promotion of mental health among COVID 19 recovered patients. 60 sample selected by probability convenience sampling technique. Data were collected by using socio demographic sheet and knowledge questionnaire. RESULTS: The obtain post-test mean value is (24.33) was higher than pre-test mean value (13.01), the mean difference value is (15.87) and the obtain “t”value is (11.29) which is greater than table value of “t” (59) = 2.0010. Since the obtained “t” value is highly significant at p≤0.05 level. Therefore, “t” value is found to be significant. CONCLUSION: There is significant gain in knowledge level of COVID 19 recovered patients regarding mental health promotion. This supports that self-instructional module regarding the promotion of mental health is effective in increasing the knowledge level of COVID 19 recovered patients.
