Title

Modern Changes in Food Habits: Kerala Cuisine in The Age 0f Globalization

Abstract

Kerala, known for its unique blend of spices and regional diversity in cuisine, has seen significant changes in food habits over the past three decades. Globalization, economic liberalization, and migration have led to the entry of multinational fast-food chains, the rise of packaged and processed foods, and an increasing shift toward consumerist lifestyles. Traditional food practices continue to be a symbol of identity, nostalgia, and cultural rootedness, especially during festivals and family gatherings. The article examines these changes through cultural, economic, and social perspectives, providing a comprehensive examination of the factors influencing food culture in Kerala today, with a particular emphasis on globalization.
