Title

Gitanjali: Songs of Offering

Abstract

This research paper focuses on R. N. Tagore’s literary piece Gitanjali. Song 1 to 21 have been analysed in this paper. Longing for divine love and nature are the key points . These songs describe love for God, presence of god in nature. The poet has longing to sing in praise of god. There are references of gita in his one of the songs . God is Lover of music in these songs .He creates beautiful melodies out of bitter melodies. He asks to follow morals.His songs are conversation among soul god and himself. The human life and world is a celebration. In this context in present scenario suicides and murders are common. So Tagore 's songs are relevant in modern world .
