Title

PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION OF IC ENGINES USING MULTI-LAYERED THERMAL BARRIER COATINGS: A MATHEMATICAL APPROACH

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate a variety of thermoplastic composite materials, their properties, and the ways in which they influence the performance of internal combustion engines. Ceramics offer various benefits over metals, including greater wear resistance, resistance to oxidation and corrosion, and better thermal insulation. Ceramics also have lower thermal conductivity than metals. Lanthanum zirconate and rare earth oxides are two other prospective materials for use as thermal barrier coatings. Yttria-stabilized zirconia is another substance that includes these potential ingredients. Using heat barrier coatings resulted in an improvement in the performance of the internal combustion engine. When applying TBC to the surface of the piston, you may use a range of different deposition techniques. Additionally, the coating system has had an effect on a variety of engine operating parameters, such as fuel consumption, power, combustion efficiency, pollutant levels, and the fatigue lifetime of engine components. Coatings have a discernible influence on the efficiency of engines in the automotive industry; the higher the temperature at which the system is working, the more efficient the system will be.
