Title

Sustainable Magnetic Materials: Investigating Divalent and Trivalent Ion Substitutions in Spinel Ferrite for Green Technology Applications

Abstract

Spinel ferrites are of great interest due to their multidisciplinary applications in green technology, such as electromagnetic shielding, energy storage, and environmental remediation. The present work examines the structural, morphological, and magnetic properties of Ni₀.₇Cd₀.₃Fe₂₋ₓInₓO₄ spinel ferrites prepared by the sol-gel auto-combustion technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis proves the existence of a single-phase spinel structure, and lattice parameters are found to change with the presence of indium ions. Replacement by divalent and trivalent ions greatly controls cationic distribution between the octahedral and tetrahedral sites and affects the magnetic as well as the crystallite size of the material. Findings indicate the possibilities of adapting ion substitution and the resulting improvement of ferrites, making it effective for technology of sustainable utility. The investigation informs the designing of high- quality ferrite material of energy efficient as well as ecologically clean technology applications.
