Title

A Study Of Social Intelligence, Mental Health And Academic Achievement Of Trainees In A Four-Year Teacher Training Program.

Abstract

Mental health refers to the ability to maintain a balance between emotions, desires, ambitions, and ideals in daily life. It also means the ability to face and accept the realities of life. The objective of this research is to study the mental health of trainees studying in teacher training programs based on gender, government, and private colleges. A sample of 600 trainees was selected for this research. The standardized Mental Health Test (MBH-SS) tool developed by Arun Kumar Singh and Alpana Sen Gupta was used for data collection. A t-test was used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that there was no significant difference in the mental health of male and female trainees in the four-year teacher training program. There was no difference in the mental health of trainees from the government and private sectors. A significant difference was found in the mental health of male and female trainees from the government sector. A significant difference was found in the mental health of male and female trainees from the private sector.
