The suffix "tin" and the word "Dha" combine to make the word "Dhatu." It refers to a fundamental component that aids in building. A living body is made up of seven Dhatus, or tissues, which not only perform Dharan but also give nourishment, or Poshan, to the Dhatu that forms next. Although it varies depending on the stage of life, tissue feeding is a continual process that lasts throughout life. Through Dhatu Poshana Nyaya (tissue nutrition and differentiation theory), Acharayas proposed ideas of tissue nutrition and the conversion of tissue nutrients into body elements. The four theories of tissue nutrition are Ek Kaal Dhatu Poshan Nyaya (simultaneous delivery of nutrients to complete body), Kedari Kulya Nyaya (Law of Transportation), Khale Kapot Nyaya (Law of Selectivity), and Ksheera Dadhi Nyaya (Law of Transformation).
