Title

Impact of Nutritional Labeling on Consumer Food Purchase Decisions

Abstract

The study “Impact of Nutritional Labeling on Consumers’ Food Purchase Decisions” explores how nutritional information displayed on packaged foods affects consumers’ awareness, perception, and purchasing behavior. The research aims to analyze how effectively consumers understand and utilize nutritional labels while making food-related decisions. Primary data were collected from 52 student respondents through a structured Google Form survey. The study examines the level of awareness and understanding of nutritional information, the importance of product attributes such as ingredients, calories, and expiry dates, and the relationship between demographic factors like education, gender, and health awareness. Overall, the research seeks to determine how nutritional labeling contributes to informed and health-conscious food purchase decisions among students and emphasizes the importance of clear labeling, effective consumer education, and trust in food information in India’s evolving packaged food market
