Title

A Study on the Impact of Quality Certification (FSSAI, AGMARK, ISO) on Consumer Trust

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of quality certifications—FSSAI, AGMARK, and ISO—on consumer trust in food and dairy products. Using a mixed-method approach, a structured questionnaire was administered to a purposive sample of 92 consumers across urban and semi-urban areas. The research examines consumers’ awareness, perceived credibility, and purchase intention associated with certified products. Statistical tools including descriptive statistics, reliability analysis (Cronbach’s alpha), exploratory factor analysis (EFA), correlation, and multiple regression were used to analyze the dataThis study analyzes consumer perceptions of food quality certifications—FSSAI, AGMARK, and ISO—and their impact on consumer trust. A structured Google Form survey collected 92 valid responses from various age and education groups. The analysis revealed that FSSAI is the most recognized and trusted certification (88% of respondents), followed by ISO and AGMARK. Results show that quality certifications significantly influence consumer confidence and purchasing behavior, particularly among educated and young consumers. The study emphasizes the importance of promoting awareness of certification marks to strengthen food safety trust in India.
