Rapid urbanisation and cement-based construction have contributed to environmental degradation, high indoor temperature, poor air quality and rising lifestyle disorders. Earthen houses using local soil, cow dung, cow urine and natural fibres offer a low-carbon, health-supportive alternative. This exploratory paper presents the concept, material composition, construction method and health impact of an eco-friendly earthen house designed from a yoga and naturopathy perspective. A prototype single-storey dwelling is proposed with thick earthen walls, lime–cow dung plaster, ventilated windows and a thermally insulated roof. The paper synthesises traditional knowledge and recent studies showing that earthen and cow-dung based plasters improve thermal comfort, reduce energy use, enhance indoor air quality and support microbial balance, thereby aligning with yogic principles of natural living and sattvic dwellings.
