Title

Silent Libraries and Mental Wellness:A Behavioral Study on How Library Silence Affects Student Anxiety, Focus, and Emotional Regulation

Abstract

This study, titled “Silent Libraries and Mental Wellness,” looks at how the quiet atmosphere in libraries affects students’ minds and emotions. In the busy and stressful world of academics, silence can mean more than just a lack of noise—it might actually help students feel calmer and focus better. The research mainly focuses on college students between the ages of 18 and 28. It studies how spending time in silent library areas influences their anxiety levels, concentration, and ability to manage emotions. The study uses both observations and student feedback to understand these effects. The results are expected to show that silent spaces not only help students study better but also improve their mental well-being. Overall, the study suggests that libraries can be more than learning spaces—they can also be peaceful places that support emotional and mental health.
