ABSTRACT UV–Visible spectroscopy is one of the most widely used analytical techniques in pharmaceutical analysis because of its simplicity, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. In recent years, several advancements such as derivative spectroscopy, chemometric data analysis, nanomaterial-based sensors, and rapid miniaturized portable instruments have greatly improved its sensitivity and versatility. These developments have enabled rapid quantitative estimation of drugs, detection of impurities, stability testing, and real-time process monitoring. The integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning has further enhanced data interpretation and prediction accuracy. This review highlights the recent technological improvements and their significant applications in the pharmaceutical field, showing that UV–Visible spectroscopy continues to be an essential and evolving tool in modern drug analysis.
