Parkinson disease is the second most growing neurodegenerative disease caused due to the degeneration of dopaminergic neuron in substantia nigra outcoming in depletion of striatum dopamine. The Parkinson disease is considered to be combination of motor and non-motor symptoms. The motor symptoms include the rigidity, shaking hands, difficulty in the movement etc. On the other hand, the non-motor symptoms as the name suggest includes depression, anxiety, memory loss etc. These symptoms are being used in the diagnostic purpose also by the help of different methods like bradykinesis, rest tremor and many more. The treatment section of the Parkinson disease is classified into three major groups that are pharmacological consisting of medications like levodopa, carbidopa etc. The others are nonpharmacological treatment that are exercises and physiotherapy and the last option is the surgery. These treatment methods especially the pharmacological method results in the undesired action known to be ADR that may cause long term disorders. To prevent these reactions many researches are being conducted. This research consists of herbs having chemical constituents that helps in the treatment of Parkinson disease. Some of these herbs are velvet seeds, rosemary, turmeric, ashwagandha etc. in this review article there is a detailed overview about the herbs and their role in the treatment of Parkinson disease.
