Title

Generational Insights into Mutual Fund Investing: A Comparative Evaluation of Gen Z and Millennials

Abstract

Recent years have also changed the mutual fund participation dynamics following the emergence of younger investors. This work gives a comparative analysis of Gen Z and Millennials, including their level of awareness, investment behavior, and driving factors concerning the mutual fund investment. It aims to learn the impact of the generational characteristics, financial literacy, and digital adoption on the investment participation and decision-making. The questionnaire was in the form of a structured questionnaire which included elements like, from where motivation to invest, risk attitude, preference of platform and future intentions. As the analysis indicates, both of the generations tend to consider mutual funds as the possible means of financial development, but they differ significantly in how they do it. Whereas Millennials are very cautious and long-term oriented, Gen Z is highly dependent on digital platforms, social media, and peer pressure in making investment decisions. The research suggests that the level of participation is driven by digital access and financial education but low knowledge and perceived risk are the obstacles. The results highlight the necessity of special financial literacy programs and technology-based engagement strategies to make the youth more eager to take part in the mutual fund industry and retain in it.
