India's life-insurance industry is undergoing swift changes due to advancements in technology. Mobile apps, online platforms, data analytics, and new digital systems have been making it easier for people to buy, manage, and claim their insurance policies. Tools such as e-KYC, which is an online check of identity; paperless application processes; and automated claim approvals have reduced time and costs for both insurers and customers. This paper examines the usage of technology in life insurance in India and how this is enhancing customer experience, company performance, and market reach. The research is based on secondary data alone, comprising reports, surveys, and studies published by IRDAI, consulting firms, and industry experts. It also looks at the major challenges in the form of data privacy, cyber-risk, and digital awareness. Thereby, the paper concludes that digitization is helping the industry grow faster and reach more people, while insurers will have to be fully prepared to manage data and its security carefully.
