Stylistics Approach to Thomas Gray's 'Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard'

Abstract
Stylistics is an approach which concerned with styles and techniques used in literary text. It deals literature with an artistic and aesthetic point of view. This paper attempts a stylistics approach to Thomas Gray’s “Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard” and explores some foregrounded features. Moreover, this paper studies the different levels of stylistics analysis which include the level of phonology, semantic, syntax and graphology and identifies the various devices used at different level.
