Title

“A Study on Admission Conversion Strategies: Evaluating Student Interest in B. Tech at Amity University Mumbai”

Abstract

The increasing competition in the Indian higher education industry has compelled the universities to revisit the process through which they are admitting the students. What was at one time a regular administrative activity now has developed into a data-oriented, strategic operation. The study looks into admission conversion processes applied by Amity University in Mumbai (AUM) to the B. Tech course in the June July 2025 cycle. Based on primary data, including 2,448 call logs of counselling sessions, open-house attendance, or follow-up data, the study will examine how individualized communication, online communication, and campus participation influence student interest and enrolment. The analysis indicates that although the general percentage of conversions was 1.06, the direct counselling calls have the biggest influence on taking the students off the first inquiry to final admission. The campus visits findings also indicated that parental influence is important and the students attach great value to the records of placement and institutional reputation. The research concludes that the future conversion endeavours can be greatly reinforced through the integration of human interaction with AI-enhanced communication. The keywords are admission conversion, student decision-making, marketing of higher education, effectiveness of counselling, Amity University Mumbai.
