The study investigates the antioxidant activity of methanol extracts from the flowers, fruits, and seeds of Benincasa hispida (Thunb) Cogn. The research aims to evaluate their phytochemical content, free radical scavenging ability, and reducing power. Quantitative assays including DPPH, hydrogen peroxide, and nitric oxide scavenging tests, were conducted to determine the antioxidant potential. Results showed that all plant parts exhibited significant activity, with fruit extracts showing the highest antioxidant efficiency, likely due to a rich presence of phenolics and flavonoids. The findings suggest Benincasa hispida (wax gourd) as a potential source of natural antioxidants useful for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications.
