Title

A Review On Development Plan For Sustainable Solid Waste Management Of An Institution

Abstract

One of the most evident effects of fast-growing urbanization and economic growth can be seen in the piles of solid waste generated in urban as well as rural areas. The management of solid waste has emerged as a critical concern in a developing nation like India, requiring resolution via a cohesive strategy involving communities, private entities, and policy frameworks. Efforts have been made to demonstrate how these three elements - Sustainable Development, Solid Waste Management (SWM) and Environmental Management are crucial in building an environmental friendly nation, while also examining the connection between solid waste disposed of in open areas or landfills and its role in generating landfill gas which impacts climate and environmental conservation. As a result of population expansion, industrial growth and urbanization, it is projected that urban Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) production will rise to 165 MT by 2030 and to 436 MT by 2050. Poor sorting, unprotected transport, ineffective treatment, and chaotic disposal of solid waste are the main causes of this issue. Permitting the existing state of waste management to continue will result in a swift decline in both quality of life and environmental sustainability. Hence we need to take action immediately to protect the planet for future generations, for humanity and assist the less fortunate to enjoy an improved existence. Technical Education Institution like Government Polytechnic Deeh Sadar Unnao can serve as a prototype for Solid Waste Management to enhance the development of a structure for future sustainable progress.
