Title

Air Pollution–Driven Immune Alterations and Their Role in the Progression of Bronchial Asthma

Abstract

A complicated, long-term inflammatory disease of the airways, bronchial asthma is becoming more and more common worldwide. The start, progression, and exacerbation of asthma are greatly influenced by environmental triggers, such as air pollution, even though genetic predisposition is an important factor. The immunological effects of common air pollutants, such as PM2.5, PM10, NO₂, SO₂, and O₃, on respiratory health, especially in asthmatic people, are examined in this study. By raising Th2 cytokines, boosting IgE production, and inhibiting regulatory T cells, exposure to these pollutants can cause immunological dysregulation, which leads to inflammation and hyper responsiveness of the airways. The study offers a thorough analysis of recent studies, emphasizing the mechanical pathways at play and emphasizing the necessity of focused measures to reduce the risks of asthma associated with pollution.
