Bamboo, known as green gold, is a crucial sustainable resource of Chhattisgarh, India. That contributes significantly in the ecological balancing, economic growth, and rural development of the state. This paper explores the contribution of bamboo and its products in states economic development, focus on cultivation, handicraft, value chain and socio economic impact. With the help of secondary data, this has been collected from various Government sources, journals and websites. The study is made using descriptive research design to analyze the study. The study highlights that of over 10,000 artisans in five different clusters, producing handmade items primarily among tribal communities specifically with Basod, Gond and Kamhar. The Chhattisgarh State Bamboo Mission (CGSBM), aligned with the National Bamboo Mission, promotes cultivation, processing, and market linkages through schemes like Mukhyamantri Bans Vikas Yojana and centrally sponsored initiatives. The paper shows Bamboo’s contribution in income, employment generation, market expansion , export potential etc. despite of having good potential of our bamboo production and product in Chhattisgarh, there are challenges which are faced like limited technology adoption, market access etc.
