THE TRANSFORMATIVE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN HUMAN RESOURCE FUNCTIONS: A COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS

Abstract

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a central force reshaping the landscape of Human Resource Management (HRM). Contemporary organizations increasingly depend on AI applications to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and strategic capability across core HR functions such as recruitment, performance management, workforce planning, learning and development, employee engagement, and retention. This research paper investigates how AI is transforming HRM by reviewing academic literature, industry reports, and emerging empirical evidence. The paper evaluates the benefits, challenges, ethical concerns, technological implications, and future trends associated with AI-driven HR practices. Findings reveal that AI enables data-driven decision-making, minimizes human bias, increases productivity, and facilitates hyper-personalized employee experiences. However, ethical dilemmas, data privacy risks, and resistance to technology adoption remain significant barriers. The study concludes by proposing a balanced Human–AI augmentation model for sustainable and responsible HR transformation.
