In this study, the Six-Spotted ZigZag Ladybird Beetle (Cheilomenes sexmaculata Fabricius), a beneficial predator found on brinjal (eggplant) crops, was identified in the agricultural fields of Tarai region, Uttarakhand. Data was collected from these fields between July and December 2025. The life cycle of the beetle consisted of four stages: eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults. The adult beetles were oval-shaped, elongated, and moderately convex on their dorsal side, with females slightly larger than males. Both adults and larvae were highly voracious predators, preying on a variety of pests such as aphids, scales, mites, thrips, and other small, soft-bodied insects that caused damage to brinjal plants. By acting as natural predators to these pests, they play a crucial role in minimizing damage to agricultural crops.
