The seasonal variation of starch, total sugar and total carbohydrates content have been investigated from leaves, wood and bark of three tree species of Meliaceae, i.e., Melia azedarach. L., Swietenia macrophylla King and Swietenia mahagoni (L.) Jacq. which are medicinally important tree plants (Sanford, 2012). This evaluation studied in three seasons, summer, monsoon and winter. In the present study starch content of leaves, wood and bark of Swietenia mahagoni was analysed and found more (10.48 % to 8.42%) as compared to other selected medicinal plants in the study region. Starch was found more in bark in summer season. (10.48 %) Total sugar is recorded more in the wood of Melia azedarach. L. in summer season. (4.95%). In the leaves of Swietenia macrophylla King, found more content of total carbohydrate in summer season.
