This research paper presents a novel hardware implementation of an adaptive median filter for the suppression of impulse noise in an image. This novel, procedure avoids the blurring of the image, and the integrity of edge and detail information is preserved. time. In the presented design, a 3x3 or 5x5 pixel image neighborhood can be selected for the computation of the filter output. In the present investigation ,the authors have used XILINX ARTY7 FPGA development board with Vivado software. The typical clock frequency is 100 MHz. The Arty A7 is a ready-to-use development platform designed around the AMD Artix-7 FPGA family. With the Artix-7 devices, the Arty A7 board provides the highest performance-per-watt fabric, transceiver line rates, DSP processing, and AMS integration in the Arty family.
