The empowerment of rural women has become a focal point in the discourse on sustainable development, particularly in regions where traditional gender roles and economic marginalization hinder progress. This paper explores how sustainable homestay tourism in Uttarakhand empowers rural women by fostering financial inclusion. Using secondary data, it highlights how tourism initiatives provide income opportunities, enhance financial access, and promote community development. Challenges such as financial illiteracy, limited credit access, and socio-cultural barriers persist despite progress. The study emphasizes the role of government, NGOs, and private enterprises in addressing these gaps through inclusive policies and digital transformation, concluding that sustainable tourism can drive women’s empowerment and rural development
