Title

Wind Load and Lift Force Assessment on Solar Panels Using Computational Fluid Dynamics

Abstract

“This work focuses on the evaluation of aerodynamic lift forces acting on solar panel installations, which play a vital role in maintaining their structural stability and operational durability. Wind-induced forces can impose considerable loads on solar panels, increasing the risk of deformation or structural failure. The study analyzes key parameters affecting lift behavior, such as panel tilt angle, layout configuration, wind velocity, and surrounding environmental conditions. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and/or wind tunnel experiments are employed to determine lift coefficients and pressure distributions for different panel arrangements. The results offer practical guidance for improving the design and installation of solar panels, helping to mitigate wind-related risks and enhance the overall reliability and performance of solar energy systems”.
