A Literature Study of Sukhayu & Dukhayu Concept in Ayurveda & Its Application in the Present Era
Abstract
Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine, conceptualizes health and disease through a holistic lens. Among its foundational constructs are Sukhāyu (state of optimal health and well-being) and Dukhāyu (state of disease or suffering). This literature study explores classical definitions, theoretical underpinnings, and modern interpretations of these concepts. Further, it examines their relevance and application in contemporary health management, preventive medicine, and public health paradigms.
