Title

The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Unemployment: Challenges, Opportunities, and Policy Implications

Abstract

Abstract: One of the most revolutionary technologies of the twenty-first century, artificial intelligence (AI) is changing economies, labor markets, and industries all over the world. AI-driven automation has raised concerns about unemployment and job displacement even as it offers substantial productivity improvements and economic growth. This study explores how AI affects unemployment by looking at skill polarization, job creation dynamics, job displacement patterns, and wider socioeconomic ramifications. The study investigates how AI impacts various industries and demographic groups using a qualitative analytical approach based on reports, literature, and economic theory. According to the findings, AI creates new job prospects in technology-intensive and hybrid roles while also eliminating some mundane and low-skill jobs. However, the shift is unequal, increasing income inequality and disproportionately impacting low-skilled workers. In order to lessen negative effects, the article highlights the significance of education reform, reskilling programs, and adaptive labor laws. In the end, institutional reactions, workforce readiness, and inclusive policy frameworks will have a greater influence on how AI affects unemployment than technology itself. By presenting a thorough analysis of labor market developments brought about by AI and making suggestions for long-term employment in the AI era, this study adds to the current conversation.
