Title

A comprehensive Review of sneha kalpana In Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics.

Abstract

Abstract Sneha Kalpana is one of the most significant pharmaceutical preparations described in Ayurvedic literature, involving medicated lipid formulations such as Taila (oil) and Ghrita (ghee). These preparations are widely used for internal and external administration due to their ability to extract, preserve, and deliver therapeutic constituents effectively. Sneha Kalpana represents an ancient lipid-based drug delivery system that enhances bioavailability, stability, and tissue specificity of drugs. This review elaborates classical references, principles of Sneha Kalpana, preparation methodology, types of Sneha Paka, pharmaceutical and pharmacological rationale, therapeutic utility, and its relevance in the modern scientific context.
