A Randomized Controlled Clinical Study Of Guduchi Taila Nasya In Rajonivritti Lakshnas With Special Reference To Psychological Changes In Menopausal Syndrome
Abstract
Background:
Menopause is a significant biological milestone in a woman’s life and is frequently accompanied by psychological disturbances that adversely affect quality of life. Although Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) remains a standard treatment, its long-term use is limited by potential adverse effects. Integrative medicine seeks to combine evidence-based traditional systems such as Ayurveda with contemporary biomedical approaches to provide safe, holistic, and patient-centered care.
Objective:
The present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of Guduchi Taila Nasya in the management of psychological symptoms associated with Rajonivritti (menopause) from an integrative medicine perspective.
Methods:
A randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted on menopausal women aged 45–55 years presenting with psychological symptoms. Participants were randomized into a trial group receiving Guduchi Taila Nasya and a control group receiving Shatavari Ghruta nasya. Psychological symptoms were assessed using standardized grading scales before and after the intervention. Statistical analysis was performed to assess intra-group and inter-group differences.
