A series of new Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes have been prepared by conventional thermal methods. A biologically strong ligand (L) was prepared by refluxing a dicoumarol derivative in aldehyde and ethanol. Ni(II) and Cu(II) developments were prepared by mixing aqueous metal solutions with ethanol ligands and standard reagents in a 1:1 molar ratio. The structures of the ligands and their metal evolution were investigated and established by fundamental analysis, FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and mass spectrometry. The thermal behavior of the newly synthesized Ni(II) and Cu(II) mixed-material complexes was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. Each of the ligands and their conjugates are screened for in vitro inhibition, antituberculosis, and antibacterial activity. This has been shown to be important compared to the initiating ligand used for complex formation.
