Personal financial management remains a challenge for a large segment of users due to the complex and unstructured nature of bank statement data. Bank statements are typically provided in Portable Document Format (PDF), presenting transaction details in a raw, text-heavy manner that lacks meaningful interpretation for non-financial users. FinVizor is a user-centric financial analysis system designed to bridge this gap by transforming bank statement PDFs into clear, visual, and actionable insights. The system allows users to upload a bank statement, securely unlock it using a password, define a monthly budget, and view categorized spending results through intuitive charts and dashboards. Unlike traditional finance applications that rely on long-term historical comparisons, FinVizor focuses on single-statement analysis to ensure clarity and immediate value. The emphasis on clean user interface design and visualization-driven analytics enables users to quickly understand their spending behavior and make informed financial decisions. This paper presents the motivation, design methodology, and analytical outcomes of the FinVizor system.
