In today’s world healthcare industry is one of the largest industries, which is highly significant. It comprises of hospitals, institutions which provides primary, secondary and tertiary level of care in which health care workers are involved. Most of the health care workers are nurses. This study focus to measure the impact of occupational stress on psychological well being by considering the mediating effect of personality traits of women nurses, working in NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare providers) accredited hospitals in Coimbatore. The study employed descriptive research design and purposive sampling was used. There were eight multi-specialty private hospitals under NABH accreditation category and nurses working in these hospitals were considered as the population, the sample size was derived according to Krejcie and Morgan (1970) and the final sample size was 346. The statistical analysis was done using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) tool, multi nomial regression, linear regression were used.
