Title

ADVANCES IN PHARMACOLOGICAL CANCER THERAPY: FROM CONVENTIONAL CHEMOTHERAPY TO PRECISION MEDICINE AND IMMUNO-ONCOLOGY

Abstract

New pharmacological treatments are required to address the numerous forms of cancer, as it remains one of the top causes of mortality worldwide. The progress of pharmacological therapy in various cancers is covered in depth in the current comprehensive overview, with a focus on the shift from conventional chemotherapy to sophisticated molecular and immunologic techniques. The study classifies tumors according to the tissue origin and the organ affected, including cancers of the breast, lungs, colon, prostate, and ovaries. Each class is subsequently given the corresponding pharmaceutical therapy. In order to improve efficacy and reduce side effects, the study also emphasizes the necessity of personalized medicine, which adjusts treatment to the genetic and molecular profile of the tumor. The review also discusses the mechanisms of action of various therapeutic classes, including cytotoxic drugs, targeted therapies, hormone therapy, and immunotherapy, taking into account the limitations of treatment resistance, toxicity, and tumor heterogeneity. Additionally, it is mentioned that innovative drug delivery strategies, combination therapy, and artificial intelligence in drug development are all developing themes that will have a big influence on how cancer treatment strategies are developed in the future. Global efforts to provide equitable access to cancer treatments are highlighted in the evaluation's conclusion, along with the significance of teamwork in removing obstacles to efficient cancer care. It is anticipated that the current study will provide a composite roadmap for the optimization of pharmaceutical therapy in cancer, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes and quality of life by fusing current understanding with future directions.
