Title

Development of a Bio Mathematical Model for in Vitro Mycelial Growth of Aspergillus niger Due to the Effect of Different Nutrient Media

Abstract

Aspergillus niger is a ubiquitous filamentous fungus with various industrial applications. Understanding its growth patterns is crucial for optimizing these applications. This research investigates the development of a bio mathematical model to predict the in vitro mycelial growth of Aspergillus niger under the influence of different nutrient media. This study presents the development and analysis of a bio-mathematical model to describe the in vitro mycelial growth dynamics of the filamentous fungus Aspergillus niger under varying nutrient conditions. The model incorporates key factors influencing fungal growth, including nutrient availability, biomass accumulation, and hyphal extension. Different nutrient media formulations are represented as distinct parameter sets within the model, allowing for the simulation and prediction of growth patterns across diverse cultivation conditions. Experimental data on mycelial growth, obtained from A. niger cultures grown in various media, are used to calibrate and validate the model. The model's ability to accurately capture the effects of different nutrient compositions on growth rate, lag phase, and final biomass yield is assessed. Sensitivity analysis is performed to identify the most influential parameters driving mycelial development in each medium. This bio-mathematical approach provides a valuable tool for understanding and optimizing A. niger cultivation for various biotechnological applications by elucidating the complex interplay between nutrient availability and fungal growth.
