Waste segregation is an essential step in effective waste management, as improper disposal leads to environmental pollution and health hazards. Manual segregation of waste is time-consuming, unhygienic, and inefficient. This project presents the design and implementation of a Smart Waste Segregation System using an Arduino-based embedded platform to automate the classification process. The system uses an IR sensor to detect the presence of waste, a metal detection sensor to identify metallic objects, and a moisture (rain) sensor to differentiate wet and dry waste. Based on the sensor readings, the Arduino microcontroller processes the data and controls a DC motor-driven rotating mechanism to align the waste with the appropriate bin. A servo motor-operated gate mechanism is used to release the waste into the selected compartment
